Iconic global tool brand, Snap-on Tools Australia and New Zealand, has announced it is extending its reach in the V8 premier motor racing series with Erebus Motorsport’s Mercedes- Benz AMG V8 Supercar program.

Snap-on has signed as the official mechanical tool partner of the E63 AMG equipped V8 Supercar team. This new multi-year deal is an expansion on Snap-on’s existing relationship with Erebus, as the tool business is already a key foundation supporter of Erebus’ GT racing program.

“Our relationship with Erebus runs deep, so of course we’re delighted with the opportunity to support their new V8 Supercar program,” said Steve Jones, Snap-on Tools Australia and New Zealand National Sales and Marketing Manager. “At Snap-on we know and value quality performance, so it is no surprise we align ourselves closely with Erebus Motorsport's Mercedes-Benz AMG's.

“V8 Supercars is the premier division of motorsport in this part of the world. Our customers, as well as our franchisees, are hugely committed to the sport. So we’re excited to be able to continue to invest in a sport which everyone across our business feels passionate about.”

Erebus Motorsport CEO Ryan Maddison was pleased to confirm Snap-on’s increased involvement.

“Snap-on has been a tremendous long-term partner of the team and as a premium brand it’s great that they’ve chosen to expand that involvement across the V8 Supercar program as well.

“2014 promises to be a very big year for Erebus, we have very high expectations of both of our V8 Supercar and GT programs, so we’re looking forward to bringing Snap-on with us,” Ryan Maddison said.

Snap-on branding will be seen on the sides of the rear bumpers of both Erebus Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG V8 Supercars, to be driven in 2014 by the newly-signed Will Davison and Lee Holdsworth.
